01/How it works

Any class, any level

Pick from the timetable

Adults classes are open to visiting grapplers of every belt. Fundamentals if you are early in your journey, Advanced and the Friday sparring session if you are not.

Confirmed before you come

Send us your dates and we will confirm the drop-in rate, or a week rate if you are here for a while. Members of partner academies train as our guests.

Gi or No-Gi

Bring what you train in

A clean gi with no other academy's patches obscured, or rash guard and shorts for No-Gi night. We have a spare gi if yours is in a suitcase somewhere.

The same rules our own members train under. None of it is complicated and all of it is about the person you are rolling with.

01Arrive ten minutes earlyIntroduce yourself to the coach before the warm-up rather than during it.
02Clean kit, short nailsFingernails and toenails cut, gi washed, no jewellery on the mats.
03Footwear off the matFlip flops to the edge of the mat and back, never bare feet through the changing rooms.
04Tap early, roll lightNobody wins a round in a class. Look after your partner and they will look after you.
05Say if you are hurtTell the coach about an injury before class, not after it becomes a worse one.
02/Questions

Before you travel

Do I need to book, or can I just turn up?

Turning up works, but telling us first is better. We will confirm the class is running, put your name down and have a coach meet you at the door.

I have never trained. Is a drop-in for me?

Not quite: start with a free trial class instead. It is the same mat, with a coach who knows it is your first session.

Can I train in the kids classes with my child?

The kids classes are for children only, but parents are welcome to watch from the side and to train in the adult class that follows. Ask us about the parent and child membership.

Where do I park?

We are on the first floor north of Motorcity on Kylemore Road, Dublin 12, with parking on site. The 40 and 68 bus routes stop within a short walk.

Can I hire a gi?

We keep spare gis at the academy. Tell us your size when you send your dates and we will have one ready.
