The household's plan: one payment, add-ons, and a parent who starts training

One payment, one place to change it

A household is a payer and their dependants: a parent and two children, an adult paying for a partner, a grandparent paying for grandchildren. They pay once, on one subscription, and that subscription lives on one membership in the household. Every change to it is made from Members, Households, never from one child's profile, so a change never reprices three siblings from a page that shows only one of them.

Each household card carries a Household plan block: the plan, the total per period, every add-on line and who it is for, and the next payment or the date the plan ends.

Changing the plan or the add-ons

Change plan or add-ons opens one sheet: the plans, a stepper for each add-on the plan offers, and under each add-on a For chip per unit so you can name who it covers. The total updates as you go. Save, and the change applies from the next payment with nothing charged today. An agreed rate stays agreed; an add-on the household already holds keeps the price it agreed even if you have since changed the add-on's price.

If the household's first payment is still out (a payment link was sent and not yet paid), the same sheet re-sends the link with the new total instead.

Cancelling

Cancel the plan names everyone who comes off it before you confirm, and ends the plan at the end of the current period. Keep the plan undoes that while the period is still running.

Why a member's profile says "Managed in Households"

Open a child on a family plan, or the membership that carries the plan, and the Membership tab no longer offers Change plan or Cancel. It says Managed in Households and takes you there. The same rule holds in the API: a request to change or cancel a covered member's plan is refused.

A parent who did not train starts training

Mary pays for her three children and watches from the bench. Then she wants to train too. You do not give Mary a second, full plan. You add her to the family's existing subscription as one more line:

1. Once, under Plans, Add-ons, create an add-on such as Additional adult with the price you charge for it, offered on your family plans.
2. On Mary's household card, tap Add Mary to the plan. If there is more than one add-on that could cover her, you pick which.
3. Confirm the line and its price. If Mary has no login yet, the "This will send" step shows the welcome email she gets; if she already signs in for the family portal, nothing is emailed.
4. Mary is on the plan from the next payment. Her profile reads On the household plan as Additional adult, the household lists her as training, and the family keeps paying once, a bit more.

If Mary's login still holds a child's membership (the oldest enrolments were set up that way), the household card offers Free up their login first. Do that, then add her to the plan.

Taking somebody off an add-on

Reduce the add-on's quantity in the sheet, or clear their For chip. An adult who was named on the line stops being covered and has no plan of their own until you assign one; children stay covered, because the plan itself covers them.

Editing an add-on's price

Tap the pencil on Plans, Add-ons. A new price applies to new assignments only. Every membership already paying for the add-on keeps the amount it agreed to.
