Freezing or pausing a membership

Injured member, six weeks out: pause access and billing without losing their spot or history.

How freezes work

When you freeze a membership:

  1. The member's status changes to frozen
  2. If they have an active Stripe subscription, it's paused so they're not charged
  3. Booking and check-in are blocked while frozen
  4. If you set an end date, MatPilot automatically resumes them on that day

Freezing a membership

  1. Open the member's profile
  2. Tap Put on hold in the Membership hold section
  3. Optionally set an end date
  4. Confirm

The freeze takes effect immediately, and the member is notified by email and push notification.

During the freeze

The member can still sign in to the app and view their profile and history, but they cannot book classes or check in until the freeze is lifted.

Ending a freeze early

To lift a freeze early, go to the member's profile and tap Resume membership. This restores their previous status and resumes Stripe billing if it was paused.

Automatic resume

If you set an end date when freezing, MatPilot resumes the member automatically on that day, no need to remember to do it manually.

Communication

MatPilot emails and push-notifies the member automatically when you freeze or resume their membership, so there's no need to message them separately to confirm the dates.
