Class packs and credit bundles
Creating a class pack
- Go to Academy → Plans → + New plan
- Set the type to Class pack
- Enter the number of classes included
- Set the price
- Pick the martial art it is for, if you run more than one
- Save the plan
When a class comes off
This is the part worth reading, and there are two answers.
Every class that runs is the default. A credit comes off for every session of that art that happens, whether or not the member turned up. A class they miss still counts, the same way a missed week of a membership does.
That is what makes a pass a pass rather than a wallet: a 10-class pass against a twice-weekly timetable is five weeks of training. It also means the countdown does not depend on anybody marking a register, which matters when the art runs in a partner's space.
Only when they attend takes a credit off when the member is marked present. Use it for a pack of private sessions, which are on no timetable.
Two things the countdown never does:
- It never counts a cancelled class. If the session did not happen, nobody pays for it.
- It pauses while a member is on hold. A freeze is a pause you granted for an injury or a trip.
Credits you grant by hand, and referral rewards, always work the second way. There is no timetable behind them.
How long a pass lasts
Leave Valid for (days) blank and MatPilot works it out from your timetable: your class count divided by how often that art actually runs, rounded up to whole weeks. Ten classes against two sessions a week is five weeks, and the form tells you the number before you leave the field blank. Type a number to override it.
With the calendar countdown on, the window is mostly a backstop: the pass reaches zero on its own.
Which classes a pass pays for
A pass tagged with an art is only ever spent on that art. A Yoga pass cannot pay for a Jiu Jitsu class, and it is not spent on an untagged class like open mat either. A pass with no art set pays for anything.
Member experience
Their profile says "3 of 10 classes left on your pass", and their row on your Members list reads "3 of 10 left". When the pass runs out or lapses they cannot book, and you will see them on your roster with no plan.
Pack vs. subscription
A pack is a one-time purchase with no recurring billing. A member on an active subscription who also holds a pass keeps it as a buffer: it does not count down while the subscription is paying. If the subscription lapses, the pass starts working.
Multiple packs
Members can buy another pass before the current one runs out. Each pass keeps its own count and its own expiry date, and MatPilot always spends the one that lapses soonest first, so nobody loses time they paid for.
Reporting
Pack purchases and the remaining balance are on the member's Billing tab and in your Stripe revenue dashboard.
