Teens, age divisions and kids classes
A ranked 16-year-old transfers in and the kids karate class says no. That's the system working.
MatPilot follows the standard age-division rule: 15 and under is the kids division; 16 and up is adult. That one line drives several behaviours parents and desks run into:
- A 16-year-old can't book or be booked into a class marked kids only โ the family booking sheet won't even offer it, and a direct attempt is refused with the reason.
- Kids can't book adults-only classes, in either direction of the same rule.
- Belt ladders switch at the same boundary: kids belts up to 15, the adult ladder from 16 โ a transferring teen keeps their rank on the adult scale for their art.

What to book a teen into
All-levels classes (no audience restriction) or adult classes. If your teen timetable is thin, an unrestricted class works for everyone โ the age gate only enforces what you configure.
