Assigning instructors to classes

Members want to know who teaches Thursday's no-gi before they book; assignments answer that upfront.

How to assign an instructor

When creating or editing a class, select an instructor from the Instructor dropdown. Only staff with the Instructor role or above (Instructor, Manager, Owner) appear in this list, reception staff aren't shown here.

What instructors see

Instructors can open the MatPilot app and see a filtered view of their assigned classes. From their class view they can:

  • View the roster
  • Take attendance
  • See member profiles (name, belt, photo)

Changing an instructor

Edit the class and select a different instructor. The change applies from the next occurrence. If a class is recurring and you need a substitute for just one session, edit that single occurrence rather than the whole series.

Classes without an instructor

You can leave the instructor field blank. The class will still appear on the schedule and members can book, it just won't show an instructor name.

Instructor availability

MatPilot doesn't have an availability or conflict system for group classes, so scheduling conflicts need to be managed manually. There is a separate availability calendar for 1 to 1 private sessions, but it isn't connected to group class scheduling.
