How billing works
  • Every leg is billed per started minute, the way the carrier bills us: a 24-second call counts as one minute.
  • Usage goes on your next MatPilot invoice, itemised by kind, so a bill reads as minutes rather than a lump.
  • Set a monthly spending limit in Settings and outgoing calls stop at it. Incoming calls never stop.
  • Voice calls only. SMS and WhatsApp are not part of Phone.
  • Numbers are new, not ported, and a number cannot be handed back once it is yours.

Questions

Is there a contract?

No. The number is billed month to month with your MatPilot subscription. Stop it from Settings and it ends at the end of the month.

Do the included minutes pool across numbers?

No. Each number has its own 100 inbound minutes a month. An academy with two numbers has 100 on each, and an unused minute on one does not cover the other.

Can I bring my existing number?

Not yet. MatPilot Phone sells new local numbers, in Ireland and the United States, and an Irish number needs the regulator to approve your business details first. That takes two to five working days.

What does an academy actually pay in a month?

One number, 140 inbound minutes of which 30 were forwarded to a mobile, and 60 minutes of outbound calls, about half to mobiles: €19, plus €2.00 of extra inbound, €7.50 of forwarding and €12.00 of outbound, €40.50 in all before VAT.
