Every karate style grades differently, and generic software knows none of them. A Kyokushin senior kyu carries a stripe, an Enshin belt is two colours, a Shotokan brown is three kyu deep, and a spreadsheet does not care.
So the grade register lives in a drawer, and the software knows a student as a name and a direct debit.

Nine ladders, not one
Shotokan, Goju-ryu, Wado-ryu, Shito-ryu, Uechi-ryu, Kyokushin, Shajin, Ashihara and Enshin, each with its own kyu colours: solid belts, the knockdown styles' stripe on the senior kyu, the split two-colour belts. Dan grades from first to tenth on the black belt.

A grading with scorecards and diplomas
Put the grading on the calendar, invite the candidates, score each one on the day, promote from the scorecard and hand over a diploma with a QR code anyone can verify. The new grade lands on the profile the moment you tap it.
Parents get the invitation and the result in the app, not on a notice board.
Attendance towards the next kyu
Students check in from the app or at a kiosk by the door, instructors mark the roster, and every class lands on the profile. Before a grading, the shortlist reads attendance and time at the current grade, with any note an instructor left, and sorts the dojo into strong, review and possibly overlooked.
It never says ready. The sensei does.
Kata and kumite by name
The library holds karate's kata and kumite techniques by name. Write the syllabus per kyu, attach it to a class, tick what you taught, and every student who was there gets it on their record.
By the time a brown belt is up for black, the profile shows what they have practised, not only how long they have paid.
Billing a dojo actually has
A parent pays once for every child on one subscription split per plan. Kids and adult classes are gated by age. A visitor buys a single class without joining. A seminar with a visiting sensei sells through one link, waiver signed before the card.

Questions karate dojos ask
My style is not one of the nine. What then?
Build your own ladder: name the belts, order them, set the dan grades. The app treats it exactly like a built-in style, on profiles, at gradings and on diplomas.
Does it have kids belts?
Not as a fixed ladder, because kids grades in karate are set per school and per association. Build the one your dojo uses; kids and adult classes are separated by age either way.
Can it tell me who is ready to grade?
No, and on purpose. It shows you the record: attendance, time at the current grade, what they have practised and any flag an instructor raised, sorted into strong, review and possibly overlooked. The decision stays with the sensei, and nothing here is visible to the student.
Can a diploma be checked?
Yes. Every diploma carries a QR code that opens a verification page for that promotion. A revoked diploma says so.
What does it cost a 60-member a dojo?
On Pro, €79 a month plus 0.49% of payments taken through MatPilot: about €44 in fees on €9,000 of monthly memberships, plus Stripe's own processing. On the Free plan the platform fee is 2% and there is no monthly charge.
