Setting up a kiosk tablet

From empty box to paired front-desk kiosk in a few minutes, and it stays paired.

Step 1: Get a pairing code

On your phone (as gym owner):

  1. Go to Settings → Kiosk & invites
  2. Under Front-desk kiosk, pick the location if you have more than one, then tap Enable kiosk for this location
  3. A 6-character pairing code appears

Step 2: Install MatPilot on the tablet

Download MatPilot from the App Store or Google Play on your tablet. Open the app.

Step 3: Enter kiosk mode

On the tablet, on the welcome screen, before signing in:

  1. Tap Set up as kiosk in the top right
  2. Enter the 6-character pairing code
  3. The tablet loads your gym's kiosk interface

Step 4: Personalise the kiosk

Once paired, tap the gear icon on the kiosk home screen (and enter that location's pairing code) to choose a background image, accent colours, and whether today's class list shows on the home screen. These display preferences are set on that tablet itself, not pushed from your phone.

Locking the tablet

For a dedicated front-desk kiosk, enable Guided Access (iOS) or Screen Pinning (Android) to lock the tablet to the MatPilot kiosk view so members can't exit.

Multiple tablets

A pairing code belongs to a location, not to one device, so you can hand the same code to several tablets serving that location, for example one at each entrance. Add another location and generate its own code to run a kiosk there too. See "Pairing multiple kiosk tablets" for details.
