Kiosk security and access codes
How kiosk isolation works
The kiosk interface is completely separate from the owner app. When paired, it can read:
- Member names, belts and stripes, and this location's classes for today through the next week
- What it needs to run the waiver gate before check-in or enrolment
It never receives billing data, contact details beyond what a walk-in enters for themselves, or any admin settings, and it cannot be used to sign in as an owner.
Pairing codes
Each location has its own pairing code, generated from Settings → Kiosk & invites:
- The code is 6 characters (alphanumeric)
- It does not expire and can be reused. Handing the same code to several tablets at that location is expected, that's how you pair multiple kiosks there
- Tapping New code generates a fresh one for future pairings. It does not disconnect tablets already paired with the old code

Removing a tablet
There's no remote list of paired tablets to remove from your phone. To unpair a specific tablet, do it on that device: tap the gear icon on the kiosk home screen, enter the location's pairing code to unlock settings, then tap Unpair. The tablet immediately loses its session and returns to the pairing screen.
The universal admin code
MatPilot support can set a separate 6-digit numeric code that unlocks the settings screen on any gym's kiosk, not just yours. It's a fallback for when a tablet is stuck and your own pairing code isn't handy. It only grants access to that one tablet's settings, nothing else.
Audit trail
Walk-in self-enrolments via the kiosk are recorded in your audit log, tagged as coming from the front-desk kiosk. Regular check-ins are marked with a "kiosk" method on the class roster but aren't separately logged in the audit trail.
Physical security
For a shared kiosk tablet:
- Use iOS Guided Access or Android Screen Pinning to prevent members from exiting the kiosk app
- Mount the tablet on a stand or wall bracket to prevent it being moved or taken
- Enable the tablet's screen lock with a PIN not shared with members
