Troubleshooting kiosk connectivity

Monday-morning spinner? Most kiosk issues are one of a handful of usual suspects.

Kiosk shows "offline" or won't load

  1. Check the tablet's Wi-Fi connection: open the tablet's own Settings app and confirm it's connected
  2. If Wi-Fi is fine, force-close MatPilot on the tablet and reopen it
  3. If it still won't load, the paired session may have gone stale. On the tablet, tap the gear icon on the kiosk home screen, enter that location's pairing code (or the universal admin code) to unlock settings, then tap Unpair. Re-pair it from the welcome screen using the pairing code from Settings → Kiosk & invites in your owner app

There's currently no remote dashboard showing which tablets are online, so status has to be checked on the device itself.

Stale member list

If the kiosk isn't showing a recently added member:

  1. Pull down on the kiosk search screen to force a refresh
  2. If that doesn't work, force-close and reopen MatPilot on the tablet

Class not showing on kiosk

The kiosk only shows classes scheduled at its own paired location, for today through the next week. If a class is missing, check that it's assigned to the correct location and falls within that window.

Unpairing and starting fresh

As a last resort, unpair the tablet directly on the device: gear icon, then the pairing code (or the universal admin code), then Unpair. Then re-pair it from the welcome screen with a pairing code from Settings → Kiosk & invites. Note that generating a new pairing code from the owner app doesn't disconnect tablets that are already paired, it only changes the code needed for future pairings.
