What is kiosk mode?

A tablet at the door handles the greeting so your one staff member can start warm-ups on time.

What kiosk mode does

  • Self check-in, members search for their name and tap it to check in for the current class
  • Walk-in enrolment, new members can fill in their details, sign waivers, and join on the spot
  • Waiver signing, existing members sign any outstanding waivers before their first check-in

What it doesn't expose

Kiosk mode is completely isolated from the owner interface. Members using the kiosk cannot see other members' profiles, billing information, or any admin data.

Supported devices

Any tablet running iOS (iPad) or Android can run kiosk mode. Larger screens (10"+) work best for the check-in screen. A dedicated, wall-mounted or stand-mounted tablet gives the best experience.

Internet connection

Kiosk mode talks to MatPilot's servers for every action, from searching a member's name to recording a check-in, so the tablet needs a working internet connection at all times. There's no offline mode today.

Setting up kiosk mode

See "Setting up a kiosk tablet" for step-by-step instructions on pairing a tablet with your gym.
